THE 2024 OTTAWA FIRE TRUCK PULL RAISES OVER $45,245 IN SUPPORT OF EPILEPSY OTTAWA

Honourary Pull members kick off the 2024 Ottawa Fire Truck Pull

OTTAWA, TUESDAY OCTOBER 15, 2024 – The 2024 Ottawa Fire Truck Pull was a tremendous success, raising over $45,245 in support of Epilepsy Ottawa! A total of 88 fundraisers and 499 donations made this incredible achievement possible. The event was able to expand and grow under the guidance of the Ottawa Dragon Boat Foundation’s (ODBF) events team. This support will enable Epilepsy Ottawa to continue empowering individuals, families, and caregivers with epilepsy resources and mental health support, staying true to its core mission.

Peter Andrews, the volunteer President and Chair of Epilepsy Ottawa, expressed gratitude to ODBF for making this year’s pull the best ever. ODBF CEO John Brooman, shared his enthusiasm for supporting Epilepsy Ottawa through the annual Ottawa Fire Truck Pull, highlighting the community’s collective efforts and commitment to raising funds through October 31 to support this incredible cause.

Shelley Freake-Smyth, ODBF Director of Fundraising, found it inspiring to watch the community come together at the Ottawa Fire Truck Pull in support of  Epilepsy Ottawa’s vital work.

The event, held at Lansdowne Park on October 5 was a resounding success, bringing together fundraisers, donors, and supporters, showcasing a true spirit of giving. Special thanks to all who contributed, and special recognition to top teams including Team Shrek, who were the Most Charitable Team at this year’s event, Team Tulmar, Dragon Power, and Pulling for Purple, along with top fundraisers Patrick Tallon, Thom Fuller, Richard Martin, and Eric Russell. Kudos to top donors Richard Martin, Cory Noel, Kristian Harps, and Ken Stevens for their significant contributions. A big thank you to everyone involved for their outstanding unwavering dedication and support!
